Porcupine Lake Island is situated in the picturesque Digby County in southern Nova Scotia, not far from the county capital, Digby. Conveniently, shopping facilities can be found in nearby Weymouth as well as in Digby.
It is located in the southern part of the lake and is approx. 15,700 sqm (3.88 acres). The island and surrounding area have a lush mixed forest vegetation and the spring-fed, crystal-clear lake has excellent water quality, in which mother-of-pearl mussels flourish.
The island has not yet been officially named, so a new name may be appointed and entered into the land register when the island is surveyed.
The state has purchased the south lakefront, therefore it can no longer be developed.
