The island of Costaérès fulfils every expectation of a holiday in Brittany. This is one of the most beautiful castle islands in Europe. The island offers two sandy beaches and a romantic rocky coastline. Lovers of nature will find themselves in awe of the over 200 different trees, shrubs and flower species, despite the exposed position and the sea salt-laden air. The castle, steeped in history, was built for the Nobel Prize for Literature recipient Henryk Sienkiewicz, author of the famous novel Quo Vadis, and later extended by his daughter. The fishing village of Ploumanach is located only 700 metres away and enchants its visitors with its typical Breton architecture. Brittany's north coast, the so-called Côte de Granit Rose, is characterised by its fantastic reddish granite rock formations. Underwater cable and pipelines supply the island, Costaérès, with telephone, electricity and drinking water. The castle has central heating, two piers and façade lighting all around create the perfect setting for romantic island strolls at twilight.

In summer, it is warm with average temperatures of about 20 °C with a pleasant breeze from the Atlantic. The winters are mild here with an average temperature of about 8 °C. In general, humidity is high in coastal areas.
