Being the first Six Senses resort to open in the Middle East, the resort is a true “Hideaway”. Located on the Musandam Peninsula in the very north of Oman, the Six Senses at Zighy Bay is beautifully set in a secluded bay between the crystal clear Gulf of Oman and the Hajar Mountains that make up this unique peninsula. The area is often referred to as the “Norway of the Middle East” due to its fjord-like shapes. The Musandam Peninsula is of great interest to geologists because of its unique exposure of fossils. The mountains are of old coral and sediments that once made up the seabed of what used to be a sea.
