Location
Fiji, off the northeast coast of Viti Levu.

Accommodation
There are two dwellings sitting side by side, both built using elements of traditional Fijian architecture and design. Elevated and enclosed by wide, spacious verandas they catch the sea breezes and face the spectacular sunsets and sunrises. One bure (thatched house) has been created for dining, relaxing and entertaining with a seamless flow between outdoors and indoors. The other bure contains two separate double suites with their own bathrooms. Both bures are air-conditioned for your comfort.

Dining
Delicious meals and a cocktail (or two) are made to your taste.

Activities
Aquatic adventure is one of Fiji's great highlights, and the crystal-clear waters and coral reefs are a haven for extraordinary marine life. Snorkelling equipment, kayaks and a Hobie catamaran are all available for guest use within the tariff.

You can walk around the entire edge of the island at low tide, looking at the reef life and remains of ancient Fijian fishing pools. There is a lovely walking trail to follow and a sleep-out room built on the other side of the island where you can picnic or spend the night. There is also a sandy beach with recliners for sunbathing before or after a refreshing dip in the sea.

Best time to travel
Its mild tropical climate means that Fiji can be enjoyed all the year round, so it is a popular escape from winter in both the northern and southern hemispheres. Perhaps the best time to go, however, is in the dry season or “Fiji winter”, from May to October. This time of year has cooler temperatures, less rainfall and less risk of tropical cyclones.

Getting there
Fiji is a 10-hour flight direct from Los Angeles, and less than 4 hours flight directly from Auckland, New Zealand, Sydney or Brisbane, Australia. Arriving at Nadi Airport you can take an easy 90-minute transfer by road following an interesting coastal route to Rakiraki, your embarkation point. Transfer by car and boat to Dolphin Island is included, however other options – such as helicopter or seaplane – are available.
