This very special Canadian log house has three bedrooms, spacious open-plan kitchen, and dining and living area. The terrace encircles the entire house, with awe-inspiring views of the lake. There is a custom-designed, granite fireplace, and two bathrooms. You will want for nothing!
This log house has been built using conventional and traditional methods. It has even been deemed a masterpiece by experts in the log-house building trade.
Dining
Self-catering with shopping facilities in various towns nearby. Cooking is fun in the fully-equipped kitchen. Try your luck with fishing. If your attempts are in vain, don’t worry as James Sanderson's fish farm is only a stone’s throw away. His fresh trout is best enjoyed barbecued.
Activites and Excursions
Swimming, canoe trips, hiking. Rent a car for interesting day trips. Drive along the beautiful Atlantic coast to Cape Sable. Visit the unique Kejimkujik National Park.
Drive to the impressive Digby Neck – a long narrow peninsula – and from there, travel out to the ocean on a whale watching tour. Between May and October schools of whales frequent this area along the coast. In the Bay of Fundy you can experience the highest tides on earth.
Best time to travel
Spring, summer and autumn are all ideal for touring, though if you wish to ski, you will naturally have to come in winter or early spring. Swimming and sunbathing is excellent in the summer months of July and August.
Getting there
Fly to Halifax or Yarmouth. There are also fast ferry connections to and from Yarmouth. Then by car to Johns Back Lake (20 minutes from the town of Shelburne). We can arrange a rental car for you. You can combine your stay with a tour of Ontario or Maine.
