Location
Nukubati (pronounced "nook-oom bah-tee") is a private island situated inside the Great Sea Reef, off the north coast of Vanua Levu in the Fiji Islands.
Accommodation
Nukubati has four spacious beachside bungalow suites and three deluxe honeymoon bures (traditional houses). The rooms are louvred, light and airy, with ceiling fans, and are decorated in a style reminiscent of Fiji's gracious colonial past. The rattan furniture is custom-made to the traditional designs of the old plantation days.
Dining
Seafood is the speciality, freshly caught off the resort, with tropical fruits and vegetables from the island’s own gardens. Cooking is Fijian style, using only local herbs and spices. However, individual dietary requirements are catered for. All meals, morning and afternoon teas, and beverages (including wines and other alcoholic drinks) are complimentary. Meals can be taken in the Pavilion, on the beach, in your room or at any other romantic spot on the island you desire. Meal times are flexible.
Nukubati has an extensive wine cellar stocking premium Australian, New Zealand and French wines and champagnes. There are two bars, one in the Pavilion and the other on the front lawn, and bar service to all parts of the island.
Activities
Tennis, picnics, walks, massages, volleyball, petanque, croquet, darts, and various board games.
Best time to travel
Its mild tropical climate means that Fiji can be enjoyed all year round, but perhaps the best is the dry season or “Fiji winter”, from May to October. This time of year has cooler temperatures, less rainfall and humidity, and less risk of tropical cyclones.
Getting there
Nukubati is easily accessible. Fiji's international airport at Nadi is serviced by many international carriers, with flights from North America, Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
From Nadi International Airport it is only a one-hour flight by seaplane to Nukubati Island, where you will step ashore to the romance and adventure of the South Pacific.
