The island caretaker is discreetly absent, but if required can be summoned within 5 minutes by cellular phone. The perfect destination for the ultimate experience for family and friends at Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year or that very special occasion.

Location
The island is located just off Summerland Key, 25 miles (40 km) from Key West, Florida.
Accommodation
Guests stay in the island’s large 3,800 sq. ft., 3-storey timber home which boasts airy porches, lofty ceilings, cooling foliage and cross ventilation. There are 3 bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi in the master bedroom. The home provides generous room for entertaining and offers relaxing panoramic views of ever-changing vistas. New to the island is a high-speed internet connection via satellite, free of charge, so you are welcome to bring your laptop. Also new is a top-of-the-range stereo and large TV, with CD, DVD, VCR, Tivo, and satellite TV. A mobile phone is provided if needed.
Dining
The island home features all the amenities of a modern residence and is ideal for self-catering. Groceries and supplies can be purchased on nearby islands, in Key West or Marathon, or a grocery delivery service is also available.
Activities & daytrips
Sailing, snorkelling, diving, kayaking, and fishing are available. A boat is included in the rental price and enables you to travel to larger islands such as Summerland Key or Key West with their wonderful restaurants, elegant shops, art galleries and sporting facilities such as golf courses and tennis courts. The area is considered by many to have the best fishing and diving in America.
Best time to travel
The most popular time is still between December and May, when temperatures average between 60-85° F (16-30° C), and average rainfall is a scant couple of inches. Summer is hot and humid, particularly in August when hurricanes are possible.
Getting there
Melody Key is only 25 miles via the Overseas Highway from Key West or Marathon airports. There is also a private airstrip on Summerland Key, 5 minutes away by boat.
