A long time ago, a shipwrecked man was able to call an entire island all his own: Alexander Selkirk, alias Robinson Crusoe. Since then, he has been regarded as the epitome of the island man, having survived for five years on his South Sea island with the help of his rifle.
VLADI PRIVATE ISLANDS has now acquired the original rifle of Alexander Selkirk from his descendant, Scotsman Allan Jardine. We feel very proud and privileged to possess this memorabilia of the most famous islander in the world. It is now inextricably linked with Vladi Private Islands.
We are all familiar with the story of Alexander Selkirk told by the British author Daniel Defoe in his novel “Robinson Crusoe”. In the near future, Vladi Private Islands will bring out a book about the real life of Alexander Selkirk, who was shipwrecked on an island for many years. Our travel department, Vladi Island Travel, will organise a special trip to this island, named Robinson Crusoe Island in the South Pacific off the west coast of Chile, accompanied by Allan Jardine. He will act as tour guide and lead all interested parties through the various points of interest, including the original cave of his forefather.
