Sear Island is a unique place located within the heart of the Gulf Islands. It is a 28-acre private island where you can discover the illusive balance between having all you need without losing its marvellous island charm.
Just a 15-minute breathtaking flight by float plane from Vancouver or Richmond or an inspiring ferry ride can take you away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
Wonderful views of snow-capped mountains on North Vancouver and of the Sunshine Coast can be enjoyed from the beach. Nature trails on the island are lined with Arbutus trees, towering Douglas firs and ancient oaks.
Sear Island is an ideal paradise with all the comforts of a beautiful island.
There are two houses on the island:
The House
This is a luxurious two storey 3,040 sq. ft main house located at the south end in absolute privacy. The house has a large living and dining room with a roman travertine marble fireplace and a 180 degree panorama view as described earlier, a fully equipped top of the line modern kitchen, including fridge, freezer, ice machine, dishwasher, jenn-air stove, washer, dryer, etc., 5 bedrooms, 2 baths and 1 powder room, all with bidet, large games room, food storage room with additional freezer, a glass enclosed, and a partially glass covered patio off the kitchen.
The Cabin
This is a 1,000 sq. ft. 2 storey guest house, located in one of the several bays on the island's east side, some 400 yards north of the main house, again in complete privacy (e.g. not exposed to any other structure on or anywhere outside of the island). The Cabin features a spacious dining/ living area with wood stove (w/glass door), an open kitchen with fridge, stove and cedar cabinets. A storage room contains wall shelving and hot water tank. There are 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with shower and sink and 1 washroom with bidet. There is a large sun deck off the living/dining room with bench-railing affording a panorama view of the main house.
