In one of Chile's most beautiful tourist regions – the Mapuche region – lies this fully developed lake island, approximately 80 m from the mainland shores. The densely wooded island has a winterproof timber house (approx. 2,150 sq ft) in very good condition. The house includes 3 bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen with loft, furniture which is typical of the country, fireplace, gas stove, fridge and 2 boilers. Electricity and first-class spring water are available.
Lake Calafquen extends over an area of 46 square miles. Its water is crystal clear and reaches up to 26 °C in summer. The island's shallow sandy bay is a perfect spot for sunbathing and paddling.
The area around the island is ideal for day trips and sports: sailing, motor sports, fishing – salmon and other fish appear in abundance –, fly fishing, river rafting, hiking, mountain climbing, skiing on the slopes of a volcano (Villarrica, approx. one hour from the island). Merely 18 miles from the island are hot springs and a spa. The nearest village, Panguipulli, is a tourist destination, approximately 25 minutes by car.
Included with the island is a motorboat (200 hp) as well as a rowboat. An island manager regularly attends to the care of the island and the house.
