Location
Located roughly 60 miles from Mahé, Bird Island forms the northernmost island in the Seychelles archipelago. Remote and unspoiled, the island is the perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life.

Accommodation
Nestled amongst towering coconut palms, guests will find 24 simple yet comfortable chalets. Home to a king-sized bed, a spacious shower room and WC as well as a large verandah, the accommodation here is the very essence of barefoot relaxation. With overhead fans to keep you cool and a dedicated 30-strong staff on hand to ensure your dream island vacation passes by without a hitch, you’re guaranteed a relaxing break on Bird Island Seychelles.

Dining

After enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail or afternoon tea in Bird Island’s comfortable bar lounge, guests are invited to sample the delights of the Island Restaurant. Fresh fish is an island staple, caught daily from the glittering water of the Indian Ocean. Served together with organic home-grown fruit and vegetables and complemented by home-reared pork, the incredible cuisine is sure to inspire.

Activities
Surrounded by water so clear it’s like floating on air, kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving have never been quite so much fun. Guests can also choose from a range of excursions, from game fishing to whale-watching. The island is also home to its very own dolphin pod, who are always keen to get to know the guests. The 5km stretch of sandy beach offers plenty of opportunity for relaxation, whereas the brilliant blue skies and vivid tropical greenery offer the chance for a spot of bird-watching. Indeed, this extra-special Seychellois retreat is an ornithologist’s delight, with more than 20 spectacular species to spot – just remember not to foget your binoculars.

How To Get There

Located only 30 minutes from Mahé International Airport, Bird Island can easily be accessed from all four corners of the world. A light aircraft departs from the Seychellois capital every day at 2.45 p.m, ensuring a convenient transfer for all guests of the resort.

Best Time To Travel

The climate is pleasant and mild throughout the year. Temperatures range from 24° to 33° C and are not subject to sharp variations. Nature fans should think carefully about when best to travel – most guests who stay on the island between October and March will get the chance to witness a turtle laying or nest hatching. If bird-watching is your thing, however, the months from April – October may be more interesting. The island’s 750,000 pairs of sooty terns begin to land in the colony towards the end of April, with the majority of the first batch of eggs being laid in the first week of June.
