Motukawaiti Island

Idyllic private island with fully furnished buildings, beach and swimming pool

Motukawaiti Island is the most southern island in the Cavalli Islands, a short boat trip off Matauri Bay or an hour's fast boast trip north of the Bay of Islands. Far quicker by helicopter. This freehold island is 37.9190 hectares in total on three separate titles. On the western side of the island is a luxury lodge complex that has ceased trading. The amenities comprise the original island homestead which has been extensively refurbished with open plan kitchen, dining and lounge leading out to wide decks to while away the days and to watch the incredible sunsets. This building has a large master bedroom with en-suite plus two new double bedrooms, again opening onto west facing decks down a short hall way.

The new buildings include a beach level fully self-contained modern studio apartment with decks off it leading to an in-ground swimming pool - there is also an outdoor loggia area. Up a short external staircase is another new very large studio apartment with separate lounge area and spa facilities and treatment rooms. Separate to the complex overlooking a large waterfront grassed area is a full commercial kitchen - ideal for functions.

The property comes fully furnished as it was left a few years ago and some refurbishment and a general tidy up is required. The power source is solar to a bank of batteries with back-up generator. Water is collected from the roofs and stored. There is a solidly built wharf to give easy access to the island in all weathers - however, the floating pontoon at the end of the wharf needs replacing.

Motukawaiti Island is ready for its new owner and it could be returned to its former glory.

The photos of the buildings on this property were taken soon after completion. The property has been unoccupied for the last couple of years and is showing the effect. However the buildings themselves are in good condition with all chattels there. Interested purchasers will need to inspect the property and make their own conclusions as to the condition of the land, buildings and chattels.
