Quay Island

Ireland | Europe: Atlantic

This 24-acre island can be accessed by foot from Moy Point at low tide or by boat. The most convenient access is from Bunratty Jetty Point by boat. Quay Island has top quality land, most of which is fertile in the uplands and there is a small proportion of low-lying land, subject to flooding at high tide. The southwest of the island is close to the deep-water channel which leads to Limerick city dock. A fresh water supply is available on the island, which has a lighthouse and old ruins in the middle.
