Accommodation
During their stay, travelers can choose from the following accommodation options – all designed and hand-crafted by the island’s owner and each offering their own unique take on barefoot luxury:

Lagoon Hut: Located towards to the north east of the island, just a stone’s throw from the water’s edge, the four-man Lagoon Hut is raised up above the island’s surface on a series of timber poles, affording stunning views of the Coral Sea.

Kwila Hut: Decorated with an amazing collection of New Guinean artifacts, the Kwila Hut is hand-crafted timber home with space for four travelers. Shaded under a canopy of coral, with stunning ocean views, it’s the perfect place for unwinding under the Australian sun

Beach Hut: Opening up directly onto Haggerstone’s sandy shores, this chic, open-plan, 4-man villa is a dream come true for beach-lovers. If you’re the kind of person that likes to fall asleep to the sound of the waves and wake with the sunrise, the Beach Hut is the perfect place for you.

House Mawu: Discover the “ultimate designer’s dream of island seclusion”: a three-bedroomed, fully-contained home for 6 castaways. Located in an enviable hillside location with breath-taking views of the island’s lagoon, this relative newcomer to Haggerstone Island is its best yet.

Dining
Seafood fans will be on seventh heaven at Haggerstone Island. The island’s cuisine team is particularly proud of their freshly-caught, locally-sourced produce – and with good reason. With exotic fish curries, sensational crayfish satays and delicious lobster ravioli amongst our personal favourites, every meal is something to look forward to on this Australian island idyll.

All meals and non-alcoholic beverages are all included within the standard accommodation rates.

Activities
With the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef on your doorstep, there’s no end to the assortment of activities on this extra-special island retreat. From spear-fishing to snorkeling and from salt-water fly-fishing to skin diving, exciting island adventures are guaranteed.  Alternatively, for the ultimate Great Barrier Reef experience, why not organize a high-octane helicopter picnic?

How to Get There
International travelers are advised to fly into Cairns. From there, they have the choice of taking a private charter (two hours) directly to the island itself or flying on to Weipa, before making the short transfer over to Haggerstone Island.

Best Time to Travel
Haggerstone Island enjoys a tropical climate, with lows of 18°C and highs of 30°C. The best of the weather is between April to November, when the temperatures are high and humidity is low. The Vladi Island Travel recommends avoiding the wet season – December to March.
