Activities
Surrounded by the pristine waters of the Coral Sea, Pumpkin Island offers the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with the Great Barrier Reef. Swim amongst colourful coral and vivid sea-life, take to the waves on a glass-bottom kayak or enjoy a fishing trip unlike any other in the Great Trevally Cove. The fun continues on the island itself, with three perfect peaks awaiting discovery and offering incredible views for all those who dare to climb them. Enjoy picnic lunches on either the well-tended lawns or the blissful beaches and get lost in the castaway lifestyle. With activities for families, love-struck honeymooners and groups of bon viveurs alike, there’s never a dull moment to be had on this perfect private island.

Best Time To Travel
One of the most popular times to travel to Pumpkin Island is during the Australian winter. Home to a tropical climate, humidity can be high on the island. Between the months of June to September, however, the temperatures still hover around the mid-to-late twenties, yet the weather is decidedly less humid than throughout the rest of the year.

How To Get There
Situated on Queensland’s Capricorn Coast, Pumpkin’s nearest airport is Rockhampton. Long-haul travellers are advised to fly into one of Australia’s many international airports before transferring to Rockhampton via one of Australia’s larger carriers. The likes of Qantas and Virgin Blue offer regular commercial flights daily from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. From Rockhampton, it is only a short journey to Keppel Bay Marina, before a journey aboard the Pumpkin Xpress connects you to your final destination.
