Wilson Island is essentially natural – a divine sweep of castor-sugar sands that is home to turtles and birds. This tiny coral cay is both part of the Great Barrier Reef and surrounded by it, its pristine waters host to an unimaginable variety of marine life including coral and fish.

Location
Wilson Island is located just north of the Tropic of Capricorn, approximately 80 km off Gladstone on the Queensland coast and 15 km from Heron Island. Gladstone is 534 km north of Brisbane and 1,183 kilometres south of Cairns.

Accommodation
Wilson Island offers comfortable, designer-inspired tented accommodation on six permanent tent sites for a maximum of 12 guests. The toilets and washrooms are located in separate cabins. Every tent has its own shower.

Dining
Breakfast is a tropical buffet, with hot breakfasts cooked to order. Lunch is a delicious smorgasbord which can be enjoyed in the Longhouse or as a picnic on the beach. Each evening begins with guests enjoying sunset drinks and canapés. Returning to the Longhouse, they will find the table set as for a dinner party, with light music playing, candles lit, and the island hosts making final preparations for the evening's dinner.The menu is changed daily. Beverages include premium Australian wine, standard and light beer, soft drinks, juices and bottled water.

Activities and daytrips
The powdery-sand beaches are perfect for sunbathing, and snorkelling in the waters surrounding the island is a must.

Tropical climate, all-year-round pleasant temperatures of approx. 27° C.

Getting there
Wilson Island can be reached from Heron Island, which is located off the east coast of Gladstone and is the starting point of your island stay. Every morning the ferry travels from Gladstone to Heron Island and back in the afternoons. The journey by catamaran is just under 2 hours. Alternatively, you can fly to the island by helicopter and enjoy the fantastic scenery of the Great Barrier Reef from the air. There are regular daily flights from Brisbane to Gladstone.
