Towards the end of the 1920s, a young Irishman called Alan Pye discovered a very special place in Taupo and established Huka Lodge. In 1984, the present owner fell under the same spell. His resources and passion have added luxury to the location and taken Alan Pye's dream through to today's reality. We invite you to explore a luxury lodge and surroundings, offering an elegant and welcoming haven where the guests enjoy the highest standards of comfort and hospitality.

Rates
(depending on season and number of travellers):
From NZD 860 to 1,550 per person/night.
Included: Cocktail hour 7 to 8 pm, fantastic 5-course meals, breakfast, use of all lodge facilities, and transfers to/from Taupo.

Location
Secluded location on the banks of the Waikato River, 100 metres above the Huka Falls, 10 minutes from Taupo on New Zealand’s North Island.

Accommodation
Situated in seven hectares of park-like grounds Huka Lodge has 20 guest suites, all just 20 metres from the river amongst mature trees. The suites are very secluded, offering every comfort - from mini-bar to walk-in dressing room. The suites are spacious, light and very peaceful with slatted wooden, outdoor terraces. The bathrooms all have under-floor heating. A sunken bath is complemented by a separate shower and double hand basins.

First-class creative cuisine incorporating local produce and cultural influences.

Activities
Tennis, petanque, golf, fishing, bungee jumping, whitewater rafting, or soak in our hot pool. A short walk beyond the gates brings you to the spectacular Huka Falls.

Best time to travel
Huka Lodge is best enjoyed during the long summer and mild winter (June to August).

Getting there
Air New Zealand offers comfortable direct flights to Auckland. 26 hours flying time from Europe, including a relaxing stopover in L. A. Then fly with Eagle Air to Taupo, and transfer to the Lodge.
