Privacy comes as standard on this petite private island hideaway; perfect for smaller groups and celebrations

Welcome to Calala Island, a luxury, private Island resort nestled in an undiscovered part of the Caribbean, just off the coast of Nicaragua. With ample space for up to ten discerning guests, the island is the perfect hideaway for all adventurers who like to travel off the beaten track.

Location
Calala Island is an unspoiled paradise located along the only part of the Caribbean yet to be discovered by mass tourism: The NiCarribean.

The island is situated just off the coast of Bluefield (approximately 90 minutes by boat), which is a short 50-minute flight away from Managua International Airport.

Rates
Nightly rates start from USD 1150 + taxes based on two sharing the Junior Suite or USD 6150 + taxes for exclusive use of the island. Rates include all meals and snacks, most beverages, boat/airplane transfers from Managua and an array of exciting water sports activities. A minimum stay of 3 nights applies.
Alternatively, if sharing is out of the question, Calala Island can also be rented on an exclusive island charter basis for up to ten island adventurers / exclusive use: USD 14.500 Ultra All Inclusive

Accommodation
Calala Island is home to four beautifully appointed beachfront suites, all of which offer breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.

Each of the four suites were carefully designed with you in mind. Lying directly alongside the beach, each suite perfectly marries you with your surroundings. Complete privacy is standard.

Each beachfront suite has its own private verandah and secluded beachfront palapa.

Dining
The Caribbean and fine dining is rarely a match to be seen. The Executive Chef comes with a wealth of experience having worked in some of Europe’s top Michelin starred restaurants, and is constantly pushing the boundaries to deliver sensational dining experiences.

Whether it’s a causal, pool-side Lobster Brioche burger or the formal evening tasting menus under the moonlight, dining at Calala Island is an experience you won’t forget.

Activities
As well as boasting an exhilarating array of water sports (fishing, snorkeling and more), the island affords guests with a unique opportunity to commandeer a desert island: Little Calala Island. Located just a 5 minute paddle across from Calala itself and a million miles from reality, the islet is yours to enjoy as you wish.
Whether you’re the “adventure-seeking” type, the “chill-out” type, or the “party-loving” type – Calala Island offers the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.

How to Get There
International guests are advised to fly into Aeropuerto Internacional Augusto César Sandino in Managua. From here, guests can take a thrice-daily, 50-minute commercial connection to Bluefields (flight transfer included in rental price), where they will be met by a representative of the island and taken to the nearby harbour. A 90-minute scenic boat is all that separates you from your final destination.
Helicopter transfers are also possible. Please contact a member of the Vladi Island Travel Team for further details.

Best Time to Travel
If lying out in the sun is your number one priority, then you’ll probably want to visit Nicaragua during its summer season (December – April). As well as being the ideal time to enjoy outdoor activities and wildlife sighting, travelers will also benefit from fewer mosquitos and clearer water for snorkeling and fishing.
