Mapped as Isla Canales de Tierra, the 270-acre private island escape was was renamed Simca, after the owner’s father’s car company. Location  
Located just off the Pacific coast of Panama, Isla Simca is perched up high in the centre of a forest amongst over 270 acres of wild jungle surroundings and just 40 minute’s boat journey from the national park island of Coiba.

Accommodation
The quartet of residences sits 980 feet above sea level and the island’s four major beaches, guaranteeing bird’s eye views of the jungle and azure bay of the Veraguas.  

The luxurious accommodations, with their splashes of color and rooftop gardens, seamlessly complement the forest greenery of their hilltop perch like larger versions of the island’s vibrant birds. Interiors are equally bright and funky, incorporating expanses of jewel-like Perspex into the modern design.  

Olga’s House has a suite with wraparound balcony that encompasses its entire upper floor and three en suite bedrooms below. West House and South House each have six en suite bedrooms (three upstairs, three downstairs), all with shared balconies. The Master Suite comes with an oversized lounge, mezzanine bedroom, two bathrooms, and three balconies.  24 guests can spread out comfortably claiming this island as their own for the duration of their stay.

Dining  
Much of the food served on Isla Simca is either home-grown, locally-sourced or – in the case of the island’s fabulous fresh fish – even self-caught. The island grows many of its own fruits and vegetables, raises its own chickens and ducks and even produces its own honey. Bread is freshly made by the talented team chef whereas seafood is selected from the surrounding waters.  

Activities
Visitors will be amazed by what this eco-friendly island has to offer. Isla Simca’s vastness gives rise to a number of different natural habitats, thick lush forests and natural streams. It is home to a variety of animal and bird life ready to be explored on one of the many jungle hikes on offer.  

The island’s two swimming pools, Jacuzzi and plush daybeds all command views of the forest canopy and endless ocean, providing the perfect relaxation spot for those seeking ‘downtime’ from an adventure filled day.  

Additional activities on offer include kayaking, world-class fishing, Scuba diving, jet skiing, exploring 40 miles of mountain tracks on ATV or trail riding by horseback.

How to Get There  
To get to Isla Simca, you are recommended to fly into Panama City and charter a one-hour flight to a private, grass landing strip in the village of Pixvae. From here it’s just a half hour boat ride to the island itself. Yacht or helicopter transfers are also possible.

Best Time to Travel  
The best time to travel is from mid-December through mid-April, during the peak season. May, June and July are still pleasant; August through November is the rainy season.
