Location
The Island Lodge Bergholmen is located in the very heart of the Stockholm Archipelago, just forty minutes from Sweden’s vibrant capital.

Accommodation
The accommodation on the Island Lodge is its unique selling point. Made up of high-tech twin-bed tents, this is camping… but not as you know it. Encompassing an impressive surface area of 18 m², the tents include six round, removable windows as well as a much larger bay window. Located on some of the island’s most picturesque locations, each and every tent offers breath-taking views of the Stockholm archipelago. The interior, too, is sure to take your breath away. Home to an array of stylish Scandinavian furnishings, guests will be astounded by the attention to detail involved in creating these unique island abodes. Equipped with cozy, comfortable beds dressed with the finest luxury linen, the tents are heated by a rustic, wood-burning stove – just the ticket for those chilly, autumn days. Candles make for romantic evenings, whereas the crisp Scandinavian air ensures a good night’s sleep all round.

Dining
Tastebuds will be tantalized by star chef, Jan Land. With almost 20 years’ experience in the gastronomy business, you can rest assured that the cuisine here is world’s away from standard camping fayre. Using seasonal and locally organic produced ingredients wherever possible, the Island Lodge’s team of gourmet chefs, led by Jan Land, promises a culinary experience unlike any other whilst simultaneously supporting local traders, farmers and small businesses. If that doesn’t leave a good taste in the mouth, we don’t know what will.

Activities
The Stockholm Archipelago offers endless possibilities, from sailing aboard a skippered 35 foot tri-maran to embarking on an unforgettable sea safari, on the search for seals, sea eagles and other weird and wonderful creatures. Over on dry land, there’s no chance of getting bored either. Check out the island’s two beaches, or explore your new habitat by following old military patrol tracks to really make the most of the island’s diverse landscape. Depending the season, there’s even the chance to pick berries or mushrooms – whatever takes your fancy. For corporate events, why not plan a fire walk for an event that’s sure to get everybody talking. Alternatively, if you think that walking on coals is too hot to handle, jump in the 40°C wood-fired tub and bask in bubbling waters with a cool beer and even cooler views of waterways beyond.

Best Time To Travel
Open between the 1st May and the 15th October, the best time to enjoy the Island Lodge Bergholmen is the summer. Bringing with them good weather and almost impossibly long days, temperatures can climb as high as mid-twenties, offering perfect conditions for camping. Guests are advised to bring layers, however, as temperatures are known to occasionally drop quite rapidly at nighttime. Spring and autumn also have their obvious attractions, but guests are warned that the weather can be unpredictable during this time. For truly hardy souls, the Island Lodge also opens outside of the season on request.

How To Get There
The Island Lodge Bergholmen is located only 40 minutes from the centre of Stockholm via boat transfer, allowing for an convenient connection for any international guests. For those passing through Vaxholm, the passenger ship hub is another option, located only 10 - 15 minutes from the island itself. Stockholm certainly serves as a more practical solution, however, and is a great point of departure.
