Private Island Diving Holidays in the Coral Triangle

Misool Eco Resort is an exclusive dive resort and conservation centre located in remote southern Raja Ampat, Indonesia. Nestled deep within an archipelago of uninhabited islands and close to the famous Coral Triangle, this private island resort is a dream come true for scuba divers.

Rates
Guests may choose from either a seven or twelve night long trip. Consecutive trips may be combined for a longer stay. Prices typically start from EUR 2,195 per person based on a seven night double occupancy in one of the island’s eight water cottages. The package price includes accommodation, meals and snacks, drinking water, coffee/tea and an overnight stay + dinner in a hotel in Sorong. A 10% service charge or 15% government tax charge may apply. Contact a member of the Vladi Islands Travel Team for further information or to find out more about Misool Eco Resort’s exclusive dive packages.

Location
Misool Eco Resort can be found just south of the equator, in Southern Raja Ampat, Indonesia. Formerly a shark-finning camp, the island now forms the heart of a 1220 km² Marine Protected Area, which was initiated by the resort’s owners in 2005.

Accommodation
Each and every one of the accommodation cottages on the Misool Eco Resort have been meticulously designed for comfort, privacy, and sustainability. Guests may choose from a variety of living spaces – all of which form home to Balinese-style open air bathrooms, air-conditioning, fresh hot and cold showers, mini-bars, in-room safes, and handcrafted furniture and fittings and more. The eight rustically-chic Water Cottages are found within the island’s North Lagoon – just steps away from the Dive Centre and restaurant. For guests seeking a little more space and seclusion however, the Vladi Island Travel team recommends checking in to one of the island’s Deluxe Villa accommodations. Simply contact a member of our team for further details.

Dining
Tucked behind a host of towering coconut palms and just a stone’s throw from a brilliant white beach, Misool Eco Resort’s restaurant is a perfect respite from the mid-day sun. Serving up a broad range of Asian and Western cuisine, the restaurant’s professional cuisine team is proud to place a focus on fresh, local and organic fare. The locally-sourced, line-caught, blue water fish dishes form a culinary highlight and come highly recommended.

Activities
Misool Eco Resort is the perfect private island getaway for divers. The resort boasts its own dive center (featuring separate wet and dry centers), a house reef and close proximity to one of the world’s most magnificent coral reefs. Located at the heart of the Coral Triangle, nearby Raja Ampat is one of the world’s most diverse dive sites, forming home to almost 2,000 different marine species. Excursions to Raja Ampat run regularly – contact a member of our team for more details. Further to the sensational scuba diving facilities at the Misool Eco Resort, guests can take advantage of the island’s extensive spa services, take part in an array of excursions or simply lounge around with a good book, taking in the balmy island breezes.

How to Get There
In order to make the most of their private island vacation, we advise all international guests to fly into Jakarta at least one day prior to check in. From here, an internal flight connects you to the town Sorong and the local harbor. A member of the Misool team will then accompany you on a 4-5 hour private speedboat transfer to your final destination.

Best Time To Travel
The weather in this part of the world is not particularly seasonal, meaning there’s never a bad time to travel. Divers may like to know that visibility is typically at its best in November and February/March. September and October bring massive schools of bait fish, which attract bigger hunting fish and Mobula rays. The south winds in May and June bring more sharks and pelagics. Please note - the Misool Eco Resort closes for maintenance between July and early September.
