Location
Maalifushi is located in the southern Thaa Atoll, a 45 minute domestic flight and 20 minute speedboat transfer from Malé International Airport.

Accommodation
The island features a mix of 62 landed and over-water suites and villas. Shaded by the resort’s tropical greenery, the six, interconnected garden rooms (72 sqm) are located towards the middle of the island, just a short stroll from the island’s amenities. Perfect for small families, the fourteen Beach Suites and nine Beach Villas (101 sqm and 116 sqm respectively) each boast their own private pool and offer direct access to the beach as well as sun-lit terraces just perfect for al fresco dining. Further to these landed villas, guests may choose between four spectacular types of overwater suites, including the Water Suites (17 x 107sqm), the Water Villas (13 x 120 sqm), the Maalifushi Water Villa (213 sqm, including private pool, sundeck and two spacious bedrooms) and – last but by no means least – the spectacular COMO villas (2 x 408 sqm). Located directly above Maalifushi’s breathtaking blue lagoon, these two villas are the very epitome of luxury living, boasting a private pool and a private butler.

Dining
Guests may choose from three enticing dining options: the Madi restaurant serves a fusion of international, Maldivian and healthy COMO Shambhala cuisine, whereas the Thila pool and lounge bar specializes in salads, pizzas, wood-baked seafood and other light bites. Finally, the Japanese inspired Tai restaurant offers a delicious array of sashimi and sushi, using locally-sourced fish for a fresher, more authentic experience. In-room dining is also available between 7am and 11pm.

Activities
The glittering waters of the Thaa Atoll promise abundant marine life, making Maalifushi by COMO an ideal retreat for snorkelers and scuba divers alike. Whether you prefer to take advantage of the island’s own dive and water sports center or explore the waters alone, this picturesque private island promises adventure at every opportunity. An array of excursions are offered, including beach picnics to a nearby deserted island, sunset cruises, dolphin cruises and even island-hopping trips to Cocoa Island – COMO’s original Maldives island escape. Meanwhile, the COMO Shambhala Retreat offers holistic Asian-inspired treatments with views of the Indian Ocean. As well as the eight overwater, treatment rooms, guests will be able to while away the hours within a series of steam rooms, unwind within the Shambhala pool or find peace on the open air yoga pavilion.

How to Get There
Upon arrival at Malé International Airport, guests will be greeted by representatives of the Maalifushi by COMO team before making a 45 minute domestic flight connection to the Thaa Atoll and finally a 20 minute speedboat transfer to their final destination.

Best Time to Travel
The dry season extends from November to April, promising lower humidity and extra hours of sunshine. Between May and October, humidity is higher and rain is more likely.
