...your own island in the North-East lagoon of Roches Noires - Mauritius

L'Ilot is a kingdom for crabs, winkles... and local fishermen. When the catch is good, the inhabitants of L'Ilot are also the happy beneficiaries since they can purchase calamari and small fish directly from the fishermen. Frequent visits to L'Ilot are made by a regular vendor: Ali brings his marvellous live fresh crabs and crayfish, sea breams and the local sacréchiens and capitaines fish. He is also happy to clean, scale and filet them for you.

The light is magical on this turquoise lagoon and low tides are spectacular - a rare phenomena in Mauritius -, exposing vast sand banks. L'Ilot, although an integral part of Mauritius, offers a retreat if desired. With a 360° panorama the scenery transforms all the time. Depending on the wind, the light and the ocean swell, L'Ilot shimmers and changes constantly, upwind or downwind, hot or cooled by sea breezes ...
