Location
Located just off the coast of Mozambique and lapped by the gentle tides of the Indian Ocean, the Azura resort belongs to the Quirimbas Archipelago – a chain of beautiful, unspoiled islands that spread from Palma right down to the historical port of Pemba in the south. Accommodation
The accommodation in the Azura resort consists of 9 seafront villas, spread out across 2 of the island’s four beaches. Capable of housing up to a maximum of 18 guests, the choice is yours as to whether you chose to rent a single property or whether you go the whole hog and book exclusive use of the island for your special occasion. Created using only the best of the island’s natural materials, these exquisite private island abodes are a heavenly combination of beautiful coral stone, carved wooden beams, impressive timber and delicate makati thatch. All living quarters offer decadent oversized beds, spacious bathrooms and chic interior designs. The accommodation is divided into 3 categories – the four Sunrise Villas offer fabulous views of Quirimba Island and beyond, whereas the more exclusive Sunset Villas promise simply stunning locations and the bonus of a wonderful bush shower. Best Time To Travel
Located close to the equator in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean, Azura at Quilalea boasts fabulous temperatures all year round. Popular due to its combination of tropical heat and refreshing trade winds, the temperature here rarely drops below 24ºC. Many guests choose to travel between April and October when the island enjoys endless sunshine and a hot, dry climate. In November and December the temperatures soar even further, signaling the start of a more tropical season, which brings with it a series of much-needed cooling showers.

How To Get There
After flying to one of southern Africa’s major airports, make a transfer to Pemba Airport in Mozambique. Flights from Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam depart frequently for the Mozambique port town, making for an easy connection and allowing you to complete the rest of your journey with ease. From Pemba, travel to Quirimba Island via light aircraft. A short, scenic boat ride completes your journey, allowing your to arrive on your island retreat in style.
