Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve is an unspoilt part of Africa, integrated ecologically and geographically with the adjacent Kruger National Park. It lies on the banks of the Sabi River within one of the oldest and largest proclaimed private reserves – the renowned Sabi Sands area.
Sabi Sabi’s four lodges reflect its ‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ philosophy with Yesterday depicted by the romantic, colonial-style Selati Camp, Today by the contemporary Bush Lodge and Little Bush Camp and Tomorrow by the ground-breaking Earth Lodge. Each has its individual look and feel, décor style and ambience, but shares the same commitment to service excellence, African hospitality and outstanding levels of luxury and the world-renowned Sabi Sands reserve which is the habitat for an astonishing diversity of wildlife – including over 200 mammal and 300 bird species. Unforgettable safaris are enjoyed in open Land Rovers with close encounters with the Big 5 a regular occurrence.

Accommodation

Earth Lodge
The unique Earth Lodge encompasses superbly-appointed suites in an intimate setting, in the heart of the African bushveld. All 13 suites are air-conditioned and in keeping with the strong conservation philosophy, have been built to adjust to the environment which surrounds the lodge whilst retaining all the style and refinement for which Sabi Sabi is renowned. Each of the suites is attended by a private butler and is appointed with specially commissioned furnishings, a secluded plunge pool and open air shower. The natural sculptures of Geoffrey Armstrong add a powerful magic. The Amber Suite is generous beyond belief in its dimensions and boasts its own exercise room, steam room, study and kitchen. It captures art and luxury in a unique experience.

Selati Camp
Sabi Sabi's intimate all-suite Selati Camp, furnished with a historic railway theme and 19th century charm, meticulously created as an authentic home in the bush, is the most unforgettable of all African experiences. The camp includes the Lourenço Marques Honeymoon and Ivory Presidential Suites, beautifully located on the banks of the Msuthlu riverbed. Selati now boasts the addition of air-conditioned suites with overhead fans, while still retaining the old-world charm of oil lamps and lanterns for the evening lighting. The Presidential Ivory Suite has its own private pool while safaris are conducted in a private Land Rover.

Bush Lodge
Bush Lodge is an all-suite lodge which includes a suite with wheelchair access. All suites are air-conditioned, have overhead fans, flyscreens and en suite bathrooms with showers. Bush Lodge is set in the heart of the Sabi Sabi bushveld overlooking a water hole and the African plain. Each suite features exquisite ethnic décor in keeping with the bushveld environment. The lodge features artistically designed open courtyards with spectacular wooden carvings by renowned South African sculptors, created from wood salvaged from the bushveld. Mandleve Suite is an ultra-luxury suite perfect for honeymooners. It encompasses a large suite, open-plan lounge and spacious bathroom with outside shower. Also available is a private pool, safari, personal attendant plus in-room dining.

Little Bush Camp
Nestling in the shade of indigenous riverine trees on the banks of the Msuthlu river lies Little Bush Camp, the newest addition to the Sabi Sabi collection of 5-star safari lodges. Little Bush Camp offers luxury accommodation for family, friends, or small groups. Exuding the same warmth and effortless hospitality that characterises Bush Lodge, Little Bush Camp offers unparalled intimacy and seclusion.
Six luxury suites, each with a private viewing deck overlooking the riverbed, are decorated in contemporary African design, complete with luxury furnishings, full en-suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers and air-conditioning. Thatched roofs, romantic mosquito nets draped over the comfortable double beds, and beautiful wooden finishes complete the picture of an exclusive safari getaway.

Safaris
Safaris at Sabi Sabi are a unique African experience. Guided by your knowledgeable and experienced ranger and skilled Shangaan tracker (FGASA-accredited), guests begin an adventure to spot a myriad wild animals including, but not limited to, the big five, leopard, lion, rhino, elephant and buffalo. The graceful impala, dazzling zebra and other unique African game will be encountered.

Spa
Sabi Sabi has opened two beautiful new Amani Spas at Earth Lodge and Bush Lodge, with a full range of treatments and therapies available to safari guests. The new spas complement Sabi Sabi’s ethos of creating a space at one with nature, where all things exist in harmony; and makes use of natural elements and textures in its design and décor. They are run by Amani African Spas, who specialise in safari spa experiences.
On offer are holistic body, skin and beauty rituals, rejuvenating massages and soothing treatments designed to relax, harmonise and heal body and soul. Sessions are tailored to individual needs, and a popular option is a ‘couple’s package’ where couples enjoy treatments simultaneously in a special suite. Amani means ‘Peace’ in Ki-Swahili, and the new spas reflect this throughout each treatment – from the calming ambience to the highly trained therapists; from the beautiful lodge environment to the luxurious pampering within.

Best time to travel
Any time of the year is good to visit Sabi Sabi, as each season has its own wonders. Spring and summer are the rainy seasons and turn the bush green, lush and thick. It is also the time of the year when there are many new-born animals.
