The 28-acre Firebrand Island can be accessed via boat launch to the private community of Paces Lake, just minutes from Musquodoboit Harbour on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia.

The pristine Paces Lake is home to a handful of holiday home owners and permanent residents who cherish the value of a good neighbourhood and the wonderful surrounding nature whilst still being close Halifax.

The nearby Musquodoboit Rail Trail - www.mta-ns.ca/the-trails - is a popular series of interconnected hiking and biking trails, closed to motorized vehicles.

Enjoy the soft sand of the nearby Provincial Beach Parks such as Lawrencetown, Porters Lake, Martinique, Clam Harbour + Taylor Head Beach Park. Typically and in-season, these parks offer supervised swimming areas, surfing and kayak lessons.

Surprisingly, two of the Provinces most renowned rock climbing faces are located on the mainland opposite the island - First Face and Main Face. The River Oaks Golf Course in Meagher‘s Grant, just 15 minutes away,  offers an 18 hole and 9 hole course. Visitors and guest players are very welcome here.

The local grocery stores, bakeries and cafés are also located within a 10 minute drive and fresh local seafood, including fish, lobster, clams, mussels and oysters, is always available.

Hwy# 107 can be reached within 10 minutes by car, connecting to Dartmouth and Halifax and the international airport at Halifax is located only 40 minutes away.

The home on the island is an exclusive “Dow & Duggan” Log Home which boasts approx. 122 sqm with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. It features many thoughtful details such as the gorgeous ensuite bathroom. The kitchen features a gas-powered cook top island and 2 drawer style under counter fridge. The open concept living room and wood-burning stove complete the cottage feeling. The outside area includes a picnic table and comfy wooden loungers on the wraparound deck. A striking feature of the log home is the many solar panels which are used to power the home.

The short trip across the lake to the mainland boat launch is smooth and comfortable via motor boat or kayak. On the mainland, within this Paces Lake Community, there are several opportunities available to purchase an additional 1.5 - 2 acre building lot with private road and deeded lake access. This decision will also enable you to secure a spot for a boat house or garage for the winter months.
