Loksoya Island

Location
This island pearl is located near Bodø – a beautiful town with two large yacht harbors, excellent shopping and an airport, offering daily flight connections to and from Oslo, as well as to other cities.

From Løksøya, there are fantastic views of the open Atlantic as far as Fugleøya, Sandhornet and Lofoten.

Boating, diving and fishing are the main activities, but there is so much more to discover on this large and interesting island.  

Access
The island can be easily accessed by boat – only 5 minutes from Mevær and 30 minutes from the yacht harbors at Bodø. Boats can be anchored in the lagoon, on the south-eastern side of the cottage that was built in 2007.

Description
This private island of approx. 200,000 sqm, consists of a main island, with one cottage and three cabins, all with breathtaking views of the natural surroundings, and a small satellite or picnic island.

Løksøya´s coastal areas are flat but rocky. The general terrain is hilly with grass, some small trees and bushy vegetation. There are many points to safely land on the island, as well as numerous suitable places for swimming piers. From the highest point, the unobstructed view of the Atlantic and mainland mountains is very impressive!

The cottage: of approx. 33 sqm is the largest building on the island. It has a bedroom, living room and kitchen with a laundry. A large terrace (approx. 48 sqm) surrounds the cabin and attached to the cottage is a shed (approx. 10 sqm) with a workshop and outhouse. The cottage has been wainscoted in wood and is well insulated for the winter months. It is equipped with solar panels. To date, electricity has not been available on the island. Should the new owner wish to have electricity, a quotation for the installion of underwater cables from one of the neighboring islands can be obtained.

There are three additional and smaller basic cabins on the island (22 sqm, 15 sqm and 15 sqm), all with kitchenette, lounge and bedroom). There is also a communal outdoor toilet for these cabins.

Løksøya Island is the perfect location for summer holidays, offering all kinds of water sports, including boating for exploring the islands of this archipelago and the coastal fjords along the mainland. It is part of a fishing community and some of the best angling in Europe can be done here.
