Private Island with Guest House and Building Permits in the Finnish Archipelago

The island of Växtö is located in the archipelago off the south-west coast of Finland, near Turku, which consists of over 20,000 islands. To travel to southern Finland, you can book daily ferry connections from Travemünde-Helsinki or Kapellskär-Naantali, for example, or fly to one of the international airports in Helsinki or Turku.

You can leave the Finnish mainland (port: Kustavi) on the free public car ferries, which run on a fixed schedule along the archipelago ring road, and travel to the island of Iniö. Here there is a shop that sells food, everyday necessities, construction timber, etc. There is also a café and a restaurant, which is open during the summer months. There are also smaller harbours for sailing boats and motorboats on Iniö. In addition, Iniö has medical facilities and a Swedish-language comprehensive school.

Växtö can be reached from Norrby on Iniö in about 15 minutes by boat taxi or with your own boat. In the immediate vicinity of Växtö, there are several islands that are inhabited all year round.

Växtö is largely covered in forest, consisting of pine trees with a few birch, alder and juniper bushes. The western part of the island is very densely wooded and could be cleared for timber sales or for personal use as construction timber or firewood. The eastern tip is an idyllic rocky landscape that has been designated a bird sanctuary. The island of Bergroth borders the north; when the sea is calm, it can be reached on foot via a sandy spit.

The island has a total of three building rights, each with a 200 m² residential building, sauna and a small guest house. A drinking water well was dug in 2025. Shore power could be laid directly from Bergroth.

Currently, there is only one high-quality guest house with approx. 14 m² of living space on the island. The walls are made of solid wood planks with a wall thickness of 9 cm. This was built in 2022. A dry toilet and a small tool shed were also built. An aluminium boat (Linder Sportsman 400) with a 15 HP engine is provided; winter storage on land is included.

Two wooden terraces facing the south shore invite you to linger or sunbathe.
