Located along the water’s edge is the stunning Log Cabin at John’s Back Lake - a true masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. Each piece of wood has been carefully selected, treated, precision-cut and constructed with care to create incredible all-Canadian homestead which simply oozes with character and tradition.

Rates
The Log Cabin at John’s Back Lake is available to rent for CAD 300 per day. A refundable security deposit of CAD 500 and non-refundable cleaning deposit of CAD 200 also apply. Bedding is included within the quoted rates.

Location
The charming town of Shelburne, Nova Scotia is situated just 20 minutes by car from The Log Cabin at John’s Lake, and both the Kejimkujik National Park and the Tobeatic Wildlife Game Park are similarly close by. Halifax, the provincial capital, and its airport are a breezy two and a half hour drive away.

Accommodation
This incredible Canadian log house has three bedrooms (including a king-sized master suite), two bathrooms a spacious open-plan kitchen, and a dining and living area. A generously-proportioned terrace encircles the entire house and offers awe-inspiring views of the lake. A custom-designed granite fireplace means that you’ll stay cozy even during the cooler winter months. You will want for nothing at this stunning retreat!

Dining
The spacious open-plan kitchen is fully-equipped with brand new kitchen utensils – perfect for self-catering. You’ll find a number of grocery stores in the surrounding towns, including a fish farm, which supplies fresh trout (particularly delicious on the BBQ).

Activites and Excursions
The wonderful John’s Lake is literally on your doorstep, inviting you to relax, unwind and indulge in a series of watersports activities, such as swimming and canoes. Further away from the Log Cabin, the Kejimkujik National Park and popular whale-watching site of Digby Neck make for great day trip ideas. Alternatively, if you prefer to while away the hours in the comfort of the Log Cabin, a good internet connection and new flat-screen TV are on hand for evenings of great entertainment.

Best time to travel
Spring, Summer and Autumn are all great times to travel out to Nova Scotia. July and August have the best of the weather, but late September / early October is the best time to come if you want to witness the colourful spectacle of Indian Summer.

Getting there
International travelers should fly into Halifax (regular daily direct flights from London and Frankfurt) before hiring a car and driving own to John’s Back Lake. Travelers from North America can choose between Halifax or Yarmouth Airport or the Yarmouth ferry terminal.
