Killeshandra, County Cavan - located on Lough Oughter.

Accommodation
There are three bedrooms at Trinity Island Lodge, of which two have en suite bathrooms and the third has a jacuzzi bath.

Dining
If you would rather not cook while on holiday, a chef can be arranged for you upon request, as well as a housekeeper and baby sitter. If you do like cooking, there is a fully-fitted, modern kitchen.

Activities
A short hike through the woodlands reveals Trinity Island's rich history and charm. Visible from the sun deck of Trinity Island Lodge are the ancient ruins of Trinity Island Monastery, built 750 years ago by the Order of Premontre. Serenading Romeos can flex their muscles on the island's private boat.
For lovers with a fitness fetish, a trip to the nearby mainland via scenic waterways offers horse-riding, freshwater fishing, canoeing, nature walks and bird watching.

Best time to travel
The weather is warmest in July and August when the daylight hours are long. Visiting Ireland in June or September has a number of attractions: The weather can be better than at any other time of the year, it is less crowded and everything is open.

Getting there
Dublin Airport, onward with rental car. Instructions on how to get to the lodge will be provided.
