Fringed by white sandy beaches, populated by extraordinary birds, covered with lush vegetation and encircled by coral reefs, Tsarabanjina is the kind of private island to be discovered in complete tranquility, enhanced by the soft pace of the sea and its natural surroundings. An amazingly calm sea filled with a variety of fish and lobsters. A place renowned for its diving. You can stroll around, climb up the hills and lose your way in its luxuriant vegetation.
Tsarabanjina is a small island which offers calm and exclusivity. It is a place to be refreshed and regenerated in a timeless setting – here, guests can discover their own tempo, without pressures or constraints. Tsarabanjina is an island with no news, no television and no telephone (except for your personal mobile phone). There is no dress code other than the pareo and bare feet, in order to experience the regenerating contact with the sand, even at the bar. The only sound in the background is that of the waves and the birds. Pass the time resting and relaxing or with sports, massages and a healthy diet made up mainly of sea food. Your island home is a small house … with simple amenities but cosy.

Situated in the north-western part of Madagascar, at about 40 miles from the island of Nosy Be, Tsarabanjina is one of the islets of the Mitsio Archipelago. Tsarabanjina is situated 1 hour 30 minutes by boat from the port of Nosy Be, which 25 minutes by car from the airport.

25 double-room bungalows (45 sqm each), built from rosewood with thatched roofs, looking out on the sea. Each bungalow features a main bedroom equipped with fans, a bathroom with shower and separate WC, and a private terrace with deck chairs and coffee table. They are built on two beaches: North and South.
Children under the age of 4 years are not allowed for security reasons.

The Restaurant (60 seats) has a surface area of 135 sqm. Meals are served in the mezzanine above the bar overlooking the sea. Cuisine consists mainly of freshly caught sea food. For an additional fee, guests can be served a seafood platter on the beach.

The Bar (45 seats) has a floor of fine sand. It faces the lagoon and is open from 10 am till the last guest leaves. It is a great place for meeting people and for relaxing: an ideal spot to watch the sunset while sipping a drink or a delicious cocktail before dinner or a late drink after dinner. Tea-time (tea, coffee, cookies) is served from 5 pm at the bar.

There are three beaches for sunbathing and swimming: North Beach (270 metres long), South Beach (200 metres long) and Bar Beach (100 metres long).
The Constance Lodge Tsarabanjina team offers you many sport activities. Most of them are included in the cost of the stay:

Snorkeling, kayak, Hobie cat, water-skiing, sailing. Volley ball, boccia, tennis and table tennis. Walks round the island. On the small peninsula off the eastern beach the tomb of the Sakalava kings of the Mitsio islands can be found. Board games.

Additional charge: fishing; excursions to discover the Mitsio Archipelago; massages and reflexology; scuba diving: for beginners or experienced divers alike, our PADI dive club will make you discover the famous Mitsio coral reefs.

The library next to the bar holds a wide choice of books and games. The boutique offers a broad range of Malagasy art and handmade craft items, a line of clothing of Tsarabanjina as well as products for sunbathing and other basic items.

Best time to travel
Tsarabanjina enjoys sunshine all year round. The water temperature lies around 25 °C.

Fly to Antananarivo, then take a connecting flight to Nosy Be. With Air Madagascar, Air France. From Paris, direct flight to Nosy Be with Corsair. A ninety-minute crossing by Tsarabanjina’s own speedboat shuttle from Nosy Be.
