Amanpuri ("place of peace"), is built on a coastal hillside on Phuket. The island is connected to Thailand's Phang-Nga province by bridge and is surrounded by the Andaman Sea, which joins the Indian Ocean to the south.

Situated above Pansea Beach on the west coast of Phuket Island, Amanpuri is a 20-minute, 17-kilometre scenic drive from Phuket Airport. Complimentary private-limousine transfers to and from Phuket airport are offered to guests.

40 private pavilions and 50 Thai villa homes are interspersed through a coconut plantation. The resort's pavilions are an enormous, 115 square meters each, including the private outdoor terrace. 3 Deluxe Ocean pavilions come with sea views, while 4 Superior Ocean pavilions have partial sea views. The 25 Superior Garden pavilions are interspersed throughout the coconut palms, while the remaining 6 pavilions are set along the resort's internal passageway.
Adjacent to the resort and hidden away among the coconut palms are 50 privately-owned Amanpuri villas, most of them with oceanfront settings. Each villa consists of 2 to 6 separate (Amanpuri-styled) bedrooms finished with Thai furnishings, art and antiques. Villas also enjoy a private pool plus living and dining Thai salas.

Amanpuri offers several dining venues overlooking the main swimming pool and the beach. Open all day, the poolside Thai Restaurant, Buabok, specialises in exquisite Thai cuisine, expertly prepared with authentic local ingredients. Also poolside, Italian restaurant Arva is open for lunch and dinner, creating sophisticated dishes out of the bold, heart-warming flavours of Italy's cucina semplice tradition. The poolside Bar, serving drinks and light snacks, is complemented by Amanpuri's walk-in wine cellar, featuring 300 varieties from world-leading producers. Latin American-style cocktails and street-food are the highlight of The Lounge, while destination venue Nama showcases Japanese washoku cuisine in its purest, most enticing form. Down on the beach, the Beach Terrace features a poolside lounge and bar, with a seasonal restaurant serving Mediterranean lunches from the live grill and wood-fired pizza oven. Enjoy a few more beach cocktails as well as smoothies and fresh juices or premium spirits at the Straw Hat Beach Bar.

Best time to travel
Thailand has three seasons: the dry and moderately warm season (November to February), the very hot season (March to the end of April), and the humid season (the rainy season from May until the end of October). Please be prepared for the high temperatures during sight-seeing tours.
