Shore Island is a bay island located in the Shannon Estuary south of Galway Bay and approximately 30 acres. It is accessible at all stages of tide and only 3 miles from Shannon Airport. The waters around it are known for good salmon fishing.
Although not apparent in the photo, the island rises to an elevation of about 100 feet in the middle. There is a small pier on shore for landing. The island near the Shannon Airport is currently used for cattle grazing, but would be a beautiful location for a house.
It should not be difficult to get building permission, because there was once a house there (in the middle near the trees). Moreover, the remains of the old homestead can be used when building a new home. Water is available from a well and through a water pipe from the mainland.
