Contrary to most over-touted tourist destinations, Taha’a has managed to stay refreshingly "real" – earning its living from pearl farms, traditional vanilla plantations, copra farming and fishing.

From EUR 290 to 440 per night/bungalow (excluding meals).

In the heart of the Society Islands in close proximity to Taha’a, the Vanilla Island, in French Polynesia.

Three overwater fares (pronounced faa-rays, which are local-style bungalows), each featuring a bedroom with a king-size bed or twin beds, a bathroom with shower, living room with an aquarium table, and fan. Six beach fares, each feature king-size or twin beds, bathroom with shower, and fan.

The restaurant offers refined candlelit dinners combining French and local cuisine, and an excellent wine list.

Outrigger canoe, snorkelling equipment, windsurfing, kayaking, volleyball, beach games, reading library, etc.

Best time to travel
June to October is best for weather, and July is particularly popular for its Heiva festival. The weather gets warmer and more humid between November and the end of May.

Getting there
