A Stunning Scottish Lighthouse Hideaway

Perched atop a rocky stretch of Scotland’s north-western coast, Stoer Lighthouse is the perfect property for all those who appreciate peace, quiet and unspoiled nature.

Constructed in 1870 by the Stevenson family, Stoer Lighthouse boasts all the typical hallmarks of a Victorian lighthouse construction, and continues to be used as an (automated) navigational aid for ships crossing from the Scottish mainland to Stornoway even now.

Yet the automated lighting isn’t the only nod to modernity in this unique and unusual property. The former lighthouse keeper’s cottage has been transformed into two well-appointed apartments and a small annex – all of which boast fantastic views of The Minch.

Both apartments are fully self-sufficient and offer two twin-bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a cosy living room, whereas the annex serves as separate guest accommodation with two single beds and a WC.

Stoer Lighthouse’s singular location makes it a must for nature fans. The ever-changing Scottish scenery is an ever-present spectacle, as is the abundance of flora and fauna in the area. Dolphins and whales can often be seen in the waters below, whereas the immense array of avian life is sure to prove popular with ornithologists.
