Lomsjö Island

Small but perfectly formed - a piece of Sweden to go please!

The island Lomsjö is the only island in the lake Saxvattnet in the middle of Sweden. The nearest town is Lomsjö, however the next shopping facilities are only in the next village Asele, which is a 20-minute drive away. From Asele, it is about a 7-hour drive south to the Swedish capital Stockholm.

The waters around Lomsjö are particularly rich in fish and attract anglers, hunters and general nature lovers. The crossing from the mainland to Lomsjö Island by canoe (included) takes only a few minutes. There is a small cabin in the middle of the densely forested island, which offers protection from wind and weather.

With wild, untouched and endless forests, the landscape around Lomsjö Island is not too dissimilar to the vastness of Canada – a Scanadivian interpretation.
